Needless to say, most of these marriages didn't last long.

Weddings are weird to me, and I say that as a happily married man. It's this whole, huge, expensive day where a bunch of distant relatives come to judge you. Sounds awesome! No matter how you slice it, it'll probably get weird - even more so if the bride and groom were never a great match to begin with.
